Edwin Acosta-Diaz has nearly two decades of legal experience working primarily in the civil prosecution of  personal injury claims (labor/construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents and trip/slip and fall accidents ). The Law Office of Edwin Acosta-Diaz focuses on the representation of individuals who have been involved in serious accidents and who seek an experienced attorney in order to dispute a substantial claim against an insurance company, a powerful party or a government entity. The main goal is to procure a reasonable compensation for the damages that the injured person sustained as a result of the accident. If an amicable settlement cannot be reached, then the Law Office of Edwin Acosta-Diaz has the experience to take the case to a trial, wherein a jury will determine the adverse party's liabilty and the value of the injured person's damages. As an illustration, on the four most recent personal injury trials that Mr. Acosta-Diaz has worked on, along with co-trial counsel, the following results were obtained: 1) $12,777,046.00 verdict for a construction worker who was involved in an accident where a personnel hoist malfunctioned, it fell approximately 15 feet and crashed onto the floor below. The worker sustained permanent injuries to the cervical and lumbar spine, requiring surgeries to both areas. The jury rejected the defendants’ arguments that the impact was insignificant and that the injuries of the worker preexisted the accident; 2) $6,300,000.00 settlement, after a month-long trial, for a construction worker who sustained permanent injuries to the cervical and lumbar spine, requiring surgeries to both areas; to 3) $6,000,000.00 settlement, during the third week of a highly contested trial and dispute over liability, for a construction worker who fell into a hole and was caused to sustain multiples fractures to the right femur, sustained a right hip labral tear and permanent injuries sustain permanent injuries to the cervical and lumbar spine; and 4) $5,800,000.00 verdict for a construction worker who slipped and fell into a floor opening and was caused to sustain serious injuries to the left knee, neck, back and left shoulder. The jury rejected defendants’ argument that the worker’s prior injuries and accidents, and not the instant accident, were the reason why the worker could not return to work.
